Mem becomes relevant when note-taking is not just about storing text, but about being able to resurface useful context later. It belongs in a more workflow-oriented knowledge category where users care about recall, connected thinking, and not having to babysit a folder structure all day.

The real decision is whether Mem gives enough retrieval and organization leverage to become part of a daily thinking workflow. If the work involves many fragmented notes and recurring context switching, it deserves a closer look.
