Bolt is StackBlitz's AI application builder at bolt.new, not the StackBlitz company listing or the separate bolt.diy community project. Official documentation describes prompting for websites and JavaScript-based web apps, editing generated code, an in-browser preview, Bolt Cloud databases and hosting, and GitHub source control. These are documented capabilities, not our own account-level test or a guarantee that every generated app works safely. A downloaded project or GitHub handoff may still need separate handling for data, secrets, domain and deployment services.

Best for: A founder or developer testing a bounded web-app idea and able to review the resulting code.; A team showing stakeholders a clickable prototype before deciding whether to fund a maintained implementation.

Not ideal for: An unattended production application processing sensitive records or payments.; A fixed-price project that cannot monitor token use or allocate engineering review.; A team assuming source export transfers hosted databases, credentials and operations automatically.
